J.I. CASE EAGLE CC INVITATIONAL MEET

Date/Site: Saturday, October 4, 2008, at University of Wisconsin Parkside

Course: UW – Parkside 4000 meter

Schools: Arrowhead, Brookfield Central, Cath. Memorial, Franklin, Hamilton (Sussex), Madison West, Maine West, Marquette Univ., Milw. King, Milw. Pius, Muskego, Pewaukee, Horlick, Wauk. West, Homestead, New Berlin Eisenhower

Format: 10:00 am JV Girls 10:30 am Varsity Girls

Awards: Medals will be awarded to the top 50 finishers in Varsity races. A team trophy will be awarded for the top two teams in both Varsity races. Medals for the top 10 in JV race.

Reminder: On the Varsity level the team can consist of ten (10) runners, only 5 score. The JV races will score five (5) and you can run unlimited numbers.

Parking: Parking is available in the parking lots Northeast of the course at UW-Parkside. If you park elsewhere, you do so at your own risk. Also, you may not erect tents or shelters in Petrifying Spring by order of Kenosha Parks Department.

T-Shirts: $9.00 short sleeve and $13.00 long sleeve.

Directions:I-90 to Janesvill; Exit E. Racine St. (exit 174A) turn left on Palmer Dr (1st stop light) the start/finish area is located at the intersection of Palmer Dr and Sharon Rd.

Time Schedule:
Bus Departure: 7:30AM - please note change in bus time
Varsity Girls: 11:00AM
JV Girls: 12:10PM
Awards: 12:55PM
Depart Janesville around 1:30PM
Bus drive time - 1 hour 30 minutes
Approximate return time to Arrowhead High School - 3:00PM

Team should wear team warm-ups (if they come in this week) and team T-shirts.
Should bring water and snacks to meet. The meet will have invite T-shirts and food for sale.

Change - Saturday Practice (9/20/08)

We would like to move Saturday, Sept. 20th practice from Arrowhead High School to Nashotah Park meet at the park and ride off of exit 179. The park will allow the girls to run on the grass instead of the sidewalks. We'll keep the same practice time of 8:00AM and should be done with practice by 9:30AM. Please let me know if you have any questions. Sorry for the change but we thought it would be the best for the team.

Arrowhead Freshmen - Thursday, Sept. 18th

Arrowhead Freshmen

Time: Thursday, Sept. 18 - Boys @ 4:30, Girls @ 5:00

Place: Arrowhead HS - the start is near the practice soccer fields north of north campus

Awards: Medals to places 1-10 and team trophies to the winning teams. Awards and results will be given out 30 min. after the completion of the girls race.

Girls - Arrowhead, DSHA, Hamilton, Menomonee Falls, Waukesha South, West Bend West, University Lake School

**All girls should wear sweat pants and long sleeved shirts to warm-up

***Must be ready by 3:30 at the normal practice location!

Cookout - Monday Sept. 15th @ Nixon Park

The girls team will have a team cookout on Monday, Sept. 15th starting at 5:00 and ending at 6:00. We will have practice after school. We will have the girls head over to Nixon Park after we run via car pool or parents. Our practice should end around 4:45. We will have the main dish and water for the girls, but I'm asking the freshmen and sophomores to bring fruit or veggies to the cookout as part of a side dish.

We will also tie dye T-shirts as part of a group activity, so everyone should bring a white T-shirt and whatever else they would like to the cookout. The theme is the 70's, so don't forget to dress up.

A special thank you to dads that are helping out with this event. You guys make this all possible.

Time Schedule:
4:15 Boys Freshman 4,000 M. Run
4:40 Girls JV 4,000 M. Run
5:10 Boys JV 5,000 M. Run
5:40 Girls Varsity 4,000 M. Run
6:10 Boys Varsity 5,000 M. Run

2. Participating schools:
Arrowhead, Catholic Memorial (boys), Cedarburg, DSHA (girls), Fort Atkinson, Germantown, Homestead, Milwaukee King, Nicolet, Oconomowoc, Shorewood, Watertown, Waukesha North (girls), Waukesha South (girls), Waukesha West, West Bend West (boys), Whitefish Bay

3. The girls team is once again in charge of clean up. All girls must stay until the end of the meet to help clean up the course & tent area. Please wear your team T-shirt and warm-up clothing to the meet. You should be at the meet by 3:00 to set up camp and ready to walk the course by 3:15 (JV) & 4:00 (varsity). Please stay out of the sun before your race, and bring a positive attitude.

4. Awards:
Awards will include 1st and 2nd place trophies for the varsity and 1st place trophies for JV
The individual awards will be:
Varsity - medals 1-25
JV – medals 1-10

5. We should be done with the awards and ready for clean up by 7:20. If everyone helps with clean-up we should be done with everything by 7:30.

Morning Pool Practice - 9/24 & 10/15 @ 6:00AM

We'll have optional morning pool practice on two different dates:

9/24/08
and
10/15/08

*Both morning practices will start at 6:00 AM and end at 6:45 AM.

*If you come to the morning practice you'll have the option to come to afternoon practice or just go home after school.

*If you don't come to morning practice, you have to come to the after school practice.

Fruit list

**A cooler with ice will be located at the Arrowhead tent.
Ideas can include fruit cut up in Ziplock bags, sliced bagels and granola bars. Plan your portions for about 15 girls.
